Banks Develop Opt-In Overdraft Programs

Last November, the Federal Reserve Board ruled that financial institutions may no longer charge customers fees for overdrafts on one-time debit card purchases and ATM withdrawals unless the customer consents to an overdraft service. Baumgarten Named Bank Mutual President

Bank Mutual Earnings Down 76%

Bank Mutual posted net income of almost $1.5 million, or 3 cents a share, down from $6.2 million, or 13 cents, in fourth quarter 2008, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
