Wis. Has Fewer Unbanked Than National Average
Posted on December 2nd, 2009 No commentsOnly 4.3 percent of households do not have a bank account in Wisconsin compared with 7.7 percent nationally, according to a new FDIC survey. However, the state fares worse than the U.S. average when it comes to bank accounts for blacks and Hispanics. The survey found that 30.4 percent of African-American and 32.6 percent of Hispanic households in the Wisconsin were unbanked. Read the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article.
