Wisconsin Banks Busy With Refinancings
Posted on October 10th, 2009 No commentsMadison-area banks are getting plenty of refinancing business since mortgage rates dropped below 5 percent. “We’re extremely busy right now,” said Dan Leeder, vice president of mortgage lending for Park Bank. “Our volume has tripled in the past week.” Refinance applications were up 18 percent nationally the week of Oct. 7 from the previous week, the Wisconsin State Journal reported.

Milwaukee Offers Loans for Foreclosed Homes

But now the city is offering forgivable loans of up to $30,000 to people who intend buy, fix up and live in a foreclosed house in the city for the long term, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
